I'm good. Yeah, really, I'm great - you know, living in Texas ain't as bad as some folks from Ohio always keep suggesting. Just take the deer: we got the better rifles, and we also got the bigger bummers.
The Yankees had one big comeback in them last night, but not two. They rallied from four down in the bottom of the ninth against the Blue Jays on Friday night at Yankee Stadium to send the game into extra innings. Both team's relievers held things scoreless through the 13th inning, but Gregg Zaun hit a game-winning solo homer off the Yankees' Brian Bruney in the 14th, sending the Yankees down in a 5-4 defeat.
It was just the Yankees' third loss in their last 15 games. It caused them to finally lose some ground in the playoff race. They fell to 2½ games behind the Red Sox, who won last night, in the American League East. Their lead over the Tigers in the wild-card hunt fell to 4½ games. That's what they say... can you believe it? I've never been as disappointed with my team before.

I'd say my mule lacks efficiency...
...but again, it has proven to be a case of just jurisdiction. While my old hose was still out in the garden, Betty called for counselation. Now I usually don't like to do this, but my car had run out of gas and so I knew I had to make it to the station in time. Sorry folks!

Thoughts on stunt movies
"Hot Rod" delivers Andy Samberg from "Saturday Night Live" to the movies. The occasion is a piece of nonsense about Rod Kimble (Samberg), the adult son of a dead stuntman, who attempts to jump a fleet of buses to raise $50,000 for his emasculating stepfather's heart operation. Rod hates the stepfather (Ian McShane) but desperately wants him healthy so he can finally win one of their regularly scheduled cellar brawls. It will, at last, make him feel like a man.
If the movie weren't so playfully dumb -- did you ever think you'd see Ian McShane throw Andy Samberg through a basement shelving unit? -- this would be exasperating. Doesn't Rod know he's already a man? He should just click his Chucks together.
